I Am Deeply Worried Since I Am A Virgin

Postby Ancient Mariner » Mon Apr 27, 2015 10:08 am

Dive trip, family outing to the Phil's in June/July, flying BA A319, CX B777-300ER, KA A330-300ER, CX B777-300ER, QR A330-200 and finally QR B787-8 Screamliner :o  :?
Will we die, what safety precautions should we take?

Thank you for your replies.

I would do my part to reduce electrical loads...no overhead reading light, lay off the IFE. Might keep the batteries a bit cooler?

No worries, one of my ex-colleagues nowadays flies the Pantyliner for QR, I'll tell him to be extra careful.

Much appreciated, just tell him there'll be a semi-old, semi-drunk Norskie with long white hair, reeking of salt water and with an angry wife and a bunch of well behaved kids somewhere aft.

Put yourself in a box and go airfreight, maybe you'll get lucky and ITS will be the PIC, and everything will be ok!
you still have to find a crew willing to fly this "barely airworthy" heap
no such thing as "barely airworthy" it's either Airworthy or Not
100% incorrect Ever hear of Ferry Permit? issued for Non airworthy aircraft

Since that is going to be worthless, I will bring a bottle of Akevitt, to speed things up.

Did the Screamliner and we did not died. Apart from that, yawn.......................just another flying tube with seats.
Nice? The large windows and the tinting.
Not so nice? Toilet rings and lids made from plastic slightly thicker than Glad Wrap.
Crap? Seats, space and the headphone connections. I had to hold the connection in with one finger for the entire 8 hour plus trip. Worn out and upside down under the armrest. Brilliant, but probably not Boing-Boing's fault. Hate the 3-3-3 config, dia just too small.
Will I fly the Screamliner again? Probably, after checking seating config. Definately not on Qatar. Good service, but the seating..................
Given a choice I'll go for A330/A340/B747 any day, B777 second choice.
Cathay A340 MNL-HKG, nice, as was Qatar's A330 HKG-DOH. Love their 2-4-2 seating.
End of report.

I think you really need to state that you personally observed with your own eyes how the cheap composite wings bow upwards as they struggle to lift the weight of all the butts in the seats and what you felt as you observed it.

Sorry, aisle seat. According to my grandson Conrad aged 7, it was nothing special. Just another boring plane. He liked the Dash 8 since it was more of a roller coaster ride. And with cyclones closing it on the Philippines, heavy rain, lightning and strong winds it certainly was.
Both the landing at, and take off from Busuanga's Francisco B Reyes International "Airport" were interesting. No lights, no instruments, last flight of the day, delayed nearly one hour and hills on three sides. Not much left of the runway wen we stopped.

Probably the fellow Norskie Conrad Hilton. In reality because it goes well with his surname, Køller, and since it is fairly rare here these days. My daughter strives go be different. Proof? Alida Aurora, Nemi Natalie, Conrad Olai.

...on a related note, I have booked a most-economical ticket on WOW airlines.

I suspect this Airline is on Evan's no-fly list. .

As with Per's earlier questions, will I died?

I probably do need to get boned up with some sim time in on MSFS, closely monitor flap usage, AND assure that the navigation is solid as we get closer to the higher rocky places in Ikeland.

Footnote: Should the FBW system OR the pilots go bezerk and do loops or barrel rolls, the airplane's Livery will say, "WOW, MOM, WOW"!

I'm hoping that the Wikipedia data you cite is typical ass-hat-lumper-inferential BS since "the 319/20/21 are the same series"....

I have not figured out the exact equipment yet- we are in row 33 and NOT in the back of the plane.

...and looking at the fleet size, I hope there isn't a sudden need for major maintenance on one of their aircraft, I'm guessing there isn't much slop in the schedule.
