NEAR TOTAL DISASTER sarcasm or customer service?

Postby 3WE » Fri Mar 17, 2017 1:37 pm

Plane makes unscheduled landing so passenger can change to dry clothes.

Um, I think ya might have missed this:
...a soft drink splashed on an electronic device in the main cabin.
Perhaps they were concerned about said device shorting out and catching fire?

That or maybe it hit one of the electronic boxes that's part of the IFE system, causing said system to fail, and they were concerned about pax dying as a result of having to go several hours with no stimulus from an electronic device... :?

I did catch that...but most of the text was about the guy needing to change clothes.

Cue up the lack of investigative journalisim rants....."an electronic device in the main cabin".

...OK...

What critical flight-critical thing is that? Is the ILS antenna in folks seats? The main computer for the FMS? The Boeing-approved, moisture-sensitive Li Ion battery pack?

...AND your similar contributions- acknowledged, concur and indeed.

Soda spills on IFE, inducing a short circuit.
The short circuited IFE puts an extreme load on the plane's badly designed and insulated electrical system, starting a fire.
The burning electrical system fails, the plane reverts to its Li-Ion batteries, which obviously explode instantly.
Then you have two fires, structural damage, lack of basic, vital control systems, lack of IFE and a passenger with wet pants. AND THE COFFEE MACHINE DOES NOT WORK.

Disconcur.

I blame Spanish Hot Shot Cowboy Flight attendants who cast all semblance of procedure aside to serve drinks using liberal instinct with reckless abandon.

...a rather novel gauge for drink carts...
While I concur with elaw on this being most praiseworthy, I am disturbed by your insistence that the FA keep their eyes inside the cart, versus traditional servership of using your eyes and senses OUTSIDE of the beverage cart to visually track where the drink is, if there is a collision risk, or if you are on an acceptable, stable approach to the seat-back table...

...but looking outside of the closed computer monitoring center goes against your mindset! You'd probably just as soon see the windows removed from the cockpit where they take care of the much less imortant task of guiding a thin aluminum (or composite) tube through the air at 600 KM/H, guiding it down to runways, that soon will be markedly curved!

Upon further study of the gauge, I see MUCH Brill-Yunt photoshopmanship.

How much automation did you use and how much was highly honed eye-to-hand coordination with keen judgement and experience?

Oh no, is this going to devolve into an argument about good old-fashioned cowboy Photoshopmanship?
