United, Delta, United, Spirit, Southwest (and maybe a few more). Now this. Of course the forward part of the plane had already unloaded and many overhead bins are empty so I doubt the plane was taxing.

I am working on a UA flight report.
I saw weird stuff from them AND their passengers.
I tire of mankind and have improved respect for cabin crews.

I know it counts for very little, but, in spite of my bitching, keyboard opining, weak aviation expertise and recto-cranial inversions, I want you to have an atta-boy.
Yeah, there's some crappy employees at Big Box Airlines A, B, C and D...as there are at Mickie D's and Bob's construction and Major-Name-Quick Lube...but Evan's got me worked up as he seems to think he could do better than the nice Jamaicans at EWR.

His doing better than ANYONE would require getting out of the house, which I highly doubt he ever does.

I'm reminded of a saying sometimes attributed to the great Ferry Porsche. He supposedly once said "to change an engine and to change it for the better are two different things..."
I'd paraphrase this for the current situation. Doing something and doing something useful are also two different things.

Absolutely.I'd paraphrase this for the current situation. Doing something and doing something useful are also two different things.
Cancelling discounts for NRA members will not prevent nutjobs from gunning down school children.
It is perhaps only a PR gesture, but it is still indicative of increased awareness and a gradual swing in opinions.

I actually admire what FedEx said, which was something to the effect that "we don't set or change the rates for millions of customers worldwide based on their political affiliation or opinions on issues".It is perhaps only a PR gesture, but it is still indicative of increased awareness and a gradual swing in opinions.

We really really really need to separate politics from business.
I don't really care what my chicken strips have to do with abortion and whether their health plan includes Viagra but not morning after pills.
I don't care how the the brown truck or the blue and white MD-11 feel about military looking guns, high capacity magazines, and violent video games.
That being said, I firmly disagree with Flyboy's support of Starbucks over-priced, burned coffee and am considering starting a twitter campaign.

On the other hand... who is (was) paying for those discounts?Absolutely.I'd paraphrase this for the current situation. Doing something and doing something useful are also two different things.

Hint 1: It is either the shareholders or the other customers.
Hint 2: It is not the shareholders.

Imagine that - running an air-transport-for-hire operation without monkeying with pricing to the point where absolutely nobody can comprehend it. What a weird concept!

Has FedEx really gotten that bad?Imagine that - running an air-transport-for-hire operation without monkeying with pricing to the point where absolutely nobody can comprehend it. What a weird concept!
I am stuck in the olden days: "$10.00...when it absolutely, positively has to be there over night".

No I meant the opposite: Fedex' and UPS' pricing is straightforward and doesn't change based on who you ask or if you wait 10 minutes. Like it does with the pax airlines.

Re: Ejected families, dead rabbits, dragged doctors.
Major hearsay, but folks in the home office were recently griping about a wide range of shipping costs when our group was each sent a box of product guides...costs which supposedly were illogical based on shipping distance...No I meant the opposite: Fedex' and UPS' pricing is straightforward and doesn't change based on who you ask or if you wait 10 minutes. Like it does with the pax airlines.
Nevertheless, you are probably correct that it's at least a lot MORE logical than a plane ticket.

For ten years working these algorithms was the bane of my existence. No I meant the opposite: Fedex' and UPS' pricing is straightforward and doesn't change based on who you ask or if you wait 10 minutes. Like it does with the pax airlines.
