I remember lots of DIAGRAMS and even a few real pictures of jet bridges going to the front AND REAR of 707s....

It now appears Southwest is trying this out: http://www.sfgate.com/travel/article/So ... 183003.php

I'm thinking that A380's are sometimes?/always? using double jet bridges.

One other twist- there was a time when planes parked parallel to the gate area, as opposed to perpendicular.

When operating in the Caribbean we often use two airstairs. Close enough?

Very cool and old school.

If you only had the DC-9 and 727 side/back retractable stairs...

I took the rear stairs to get off of a JetBlue cracker box back in December. It was awful but the stairs were fine.
