An announcement of minor, but significant, importance.

Postby 3WE » Mon Nov 26, 2018 3:33 pm

An agronomy friend from undergrad school has moved to Florida to help his brother launch a flight school and is working on the ground school curriculum.

I told him that an airplane could be stalled at any attitude and airspeed. He responded, "That is true".

Flyboy may (or may not) wish to exercise extra caution when operating in FL.

Gabriel may want to check in to see if they wish to open an ARG branch.

I do not know if they have chosen a name yet, To the best of my Knowledge, Sweet Monkey River Flight School is still available.

I hope that they are starting with a big fortune.

We read of pilot shortages.

We KNOW of consolidation in Ag.

We is specifically not quoted.

I don’t necessarily agree that this as a smart thing to do, but I think listed his top two reasons.

Very serious comment: Tell your friend to check "See how it flies".
https://www.av8n.com/how/

The format is awful but the content is great and, more importantly, correct. This is the only material for pilots about aerodynamics, airplane performance and flight mechanics that I've seen that is actually correct.

Of course this will cover only the technical/scientific part of flying. The ground school will need to cover airspace, phraseology, applicable FARs, weather, and full flight planning (including fuel planning, weight and balance, take-off and landing performance, dead reckoning, etc...).
