commentary I read indicated that if they had successfully jammed it, then it would have fallen in a spiral leaf floaty fashion.... doesnt really explain the lack of damage...

Unless they didn't "jam" it but took control of it.

Note you cannot see the underside. Me thinks much damage. Being discussed by People Who Know These Things is that it probably suffered a malfunction of the INS combined with failure of the GPS updating - the UAV may have flown to a waypoint, then started circling trying to re-acquire a GPS fix to update the INS. Craft keft circling until it ran out of fuel and glided in the same circling spiral till it basically belly landed. That'd be a long way short of Iran gaining control and landing the airframe.
