Fantastic Aurora

Postby Ancient Mariner » Fri Apr 09, 2010 9:20 am

No, not my grand daughter Alida Aurora, Aurora Borealis. There's been some fantastic actively lately Up North and more is predicted in the coming years thanks to increased solar activity.
Enjoy........and never mind the text. (That does not included you, Sir Gallivant)

Amazing photos, reminds me (again) of the one spectacular display in Greenland where I dragged my reclining chair outside, dressed up warm, poured me a malt and sat there watching for half an hour. I really have to show the aurora to the two girls in the house.

You're right, that's not what I meant. What was I thinking? What I really meant was just once in my life I want to get a picture like this:

Well...

With a new mini black hole in the center of the Earth, polarity will shift and we ecuatiorians will see this phenomenom more frequently.

That, and eating whales will become our new standard way of life!

Those are incredible pics! I've seen some pretty nice flickers here. They are wild to see!
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ~ WOW, what a ride~!!!

Probably not, but from time to time I like to remind myself of the beautiful sight it was, and I have this habit of thinking out loud. Or via the keyboard.
