I teach English as a foreign language at a public high school. I enjoy teaching but the inefficient school/education system annoys me to no end.

Let me check with my secretary. I'm getting so many sausages in the mail, it's easy to lose track...

*rummaging*

Oh yes, there it is. Nice!

Come to Germany.
They have shortened school time from 13 to 12 years in order to push the quality of education.
You should see how efficient our schools are now.

I haven't found anyone yet who could explain to me how cutting school by one year can push the quality of education, though.
But I can easily see how that can cut cost of education.
My youngest daughter usually suffers through 60 hrs of combined school and homework each week.

That's bad! Your poor daughter. Surely doesn't make learning fun for her, right?

This is good.
It will train her for the hours she will have to work when she grows up to pay off all the debts Southern Europe has run up on the Euro.

That's terribly depressing to even think about, don't you agree? It's enough that here in Lux we got a new tax added to our income tax, called "crisis tax". But I worry the coming generation will have it way worse.

It's their own fault, these babies;what with their nappies changed on demand and food fed to them whenever they want it,they expect every thing to be given to them on demand: these toddlers need to join the real world and learn to stand up on their own two feet.
