Not sure if they are Roma, but they are certainly Romani. They are anyways prefferable to Americans, quieter and cheaper to operate.

I would have loved to have had that tractor on Monday, had to rush up to the cabin on Sunday evening since my grand daughter and her friends who had spent the weekend there were unable to clear the roof completely for snow.
This what it looked like Monday morning.

How much before you have to worry about structural issues, Per?
Let me have a go at this question......and this is purely enlightened speculation. :?

I suspect that even a 20m thick layer of fresh snow would not damage Per's place
I think the issue is largely one of scale....that and snow's superior performance under compressive stress than shear stress.
Imagine an egg on the ground and its snowing. 10m of snow and it's not going to crush the egg.....but the local supermarket roof would collapse with same load per unit area.

If the vertically exposed surface area is sufficiently small then most of the weight of the snow is supported by the adjacent snow, and not transmitted to the buried structure itself. There's a sort of threshold somewhere between an egg and a supermarket, and I suspect Per's cabin is the right side of that threshold.

R O'G

NB I'm talking about fresh dry snow - not refrozen melted snow or ancient glacial thicknesses
NB2 I'm quite happy to be wrong on this.... ;)

I am actually not sure about the max load on the cabin roof, the shed was calculated for maximum 300 kg/m2, but to make sure I added three rafters, thereby reducing the distance between each to 60 cm. Rabbie's egg theory is good, but does not apply since the roofs will have too much snow on them before the snow accumulating on the ground will reach the snow on the roof end provide any support.
The real problem is not the snow, but the wind. I normally have 2 to 3 meters of snow on the east side of the cabin's roof while maybe only 1 on the west. This uneven loading is not good for the structure and the snow must be removed, or at least balanced. Hence my newfound aching muscles.
