From Aviation Typists
Capt Mustache and an F/O named Mike ferried an empty 777 from JFK to DFW. Even though Capt Mustache has never been to DFW in the 777, they didn't died.

So many things to say...
I let my subscription lapse- perhaps I need to re-subscribe.
If taking a 777 to DFW was an issue, perhaps he cold have practiced on MSFS?
Remember, there are those large checkerboard walls on the East side to help discern that planes on the end-around taxiway, aren't actually on the runway...I would hope they discussed that at length during the pre landing briefing.
I've stated before: I don't mind an article that says, "I flew from here to there and encountered these interesting things"...but I think you are inferring that maybe 777-first-time-at-DFW isn't all that interesting...yeah, the runways aren't particularly short, the terrain is kinda mundane, and it seems that the ATC interactions are a bit vanilla when you have 5 parallel runways- versus what happens at certain places in the NE. I guess there was no late-afternoon thunderstorm activity involved?
Nevertheless, thanks for the update...maybe I should purchase this gem edition off the rack.

How about Mike? Has he ever been to DFW in a 777? Was he helpful? Was there appropriate CRM where Les deferred to Mike, or was it a height-aware, power-mad power gradient that suppressed the junior officer from offering valuable insight regarding landing on a 777 on an 11,000 ft runway on a typical Texas day with visibilities limited to 50 miles?...an F/O named Mike...Capt Mustache has never been to DFW in the 777...
