The difference being that the water is gluten free indeed. The sugars have carbon in it's chemical formula.

I ass-umed they were referring to bone char, thinking of it in spanish as "carbón" but, as usual, I was wrong. And, apparently, it's an old thing (2009... shame on you, 3WE! ).

Domino Foods has introduced specially marked packages of Domino® Sugar with a certified CarbonFree® label. Granted by Carbonfund.org™, a nonprofit provider of carbon offsets and climate solutions, the label signifies that the product’s carbon footprint is rendered neutral by the reduction of greenhouse gases.

Notes Domino on its Web site, “…the sugar cane plant converts sunlight to energy more efficiently than any other major crop. As a result of this and the various earth-friendly farming techniques and energy-producing efforts at our Florida facility, the sugar you find in specially marked packages of Domino Sugar has been certified CarbonFree…”

Domino’s Florida facility converts sugar cane and recycled wood waste to electricity, reducing the need for 1 million barrels of oil annually. The facility is also said to conserve about 3.5 million cubic yards of landfill space annually and to displace “hundreds of thousands of tons of CO2 annually,” according to Domino.

As the Carbonfund.org Web site advises, to carry the CarbonFree-certified label, Carbonfund.org will work with a company to determine its product’s carbon footprint, reduce that footprint where possible, and offset the remaining carbon emissions associated with the product.

Carbon credits fine- The bag says certified carbon free...kind of a lie.

Could they be more accurate? Or state that they are joking about the ironing of it?

But now it hits me- brill-yunt FREE advertising...Madonna acting lurid by a priest...how disrespectful...hey, I like the song...

There's that goofy sugar- let's buy a bag.

Growing sugarcane and feeding the sugar to humans to make them fatter is in fact a sequestration process for atmospheric carbon dioxide... just not a very efficient one.
