"supply chain shortages"...
I wonder if they were out of paint, brushes, masking tape, or coffee.

Not so sure. Having his name in giant golden letters is horrible and doesn't match with the rest of the livery.
And is horrible.
And is horrible.

I just wish he'd change what line of work he's in... or trying to be in. Something more appropriate, like mafia kingpin or something like that.He has better taste in liveries than hairstyles.

Re: 757 troubles. the latest news
Here is an interesting blog with videos about a retired AA 757 being resurrected from the desert and flown to China for a cargo conversion.
Hastily-Retired American Airlines Boeing 757 Being Shipped To China
Among other things, we learn the ferry crew wore uniforms as it is easier to clear Chinese customs than if wearing a baseball cap and sweats.
"Now one of those retired Boeing 757s – which eventually made it from Tulsa to the desert in Roswell, New Mexico – has been opened, as though it were a time capsule. It’s headed off to China for a cargo retrofit. And while the plane has been painted over to obscure its previous owner, the interior is completely preserved.

Do you prefer a cheap chinese copy with composites and cut corners or an updated American original with bigger, displaced engines and MCAS to offset them?I liked this at first, but then realized they may incorporate some composites here and there.

United B757-200 experiences cheap-composite slat did diedness
While Verbie stubbornly refuses to make a clean-sheet 757, the old ones are disintegrating (as both Boeings and cheap composites tend to do).
Video in YouTubie.
According to Argie media, "the wing started to disintegrate in flight" and they also translated the words of the filming passenger, "...the wing coming apart on the plane..." as if he had said "...the wing detaching from the plane..." ("...el ala desprendiéndose del avión...”)... and titled the video "the moment one airplane wing crumbles", when it shows the slat already damaged. Not_Karlie loves media.

Slat rot: The picture and their discussion suggests something hit the wing (birds, deicing truck, something.)
Relaunch/clean sheet:
1. Tube
2. Taper front down and back up.
3. Wings
4. Tail planes
5. Hinges and tracks and slats and such
6. Tall landing gear
7. Big big fans, tiny inner turbojet.
8. Tracks for lots of seats
9. Tiny lavs
10. Yokes & cables, and a computer that emulates a 172
11. Lots of IFE and USB ports
Either way, what’s so hard about it? The folks from Embreria and Canada and France seem to whip out variants with minimal hiccups or delays.

Micro meteorites?Slat rot: The picture and their discussion suggests something hit the wing (birds, deicing truck, something.)
Expanded.6. Tall landing gear so you don't have to MCAS the hell out of it when you put ridiculously oversized, displaced turbofanies 30-60 years down the road when the aeroplanie is grossly obsolete and should be no longer flying, let alone being produced.
12. Nuts, bolts and pins.
13. Reinforced cockpit doors.
And DO NOT_PUT:
1. Plugs.
2. Composites, especially cheap ones.
3. MCAS.
Verbie, feel free to consult us so this time you get it right.

Re: 757 troubles. the latest news
In upcoming aviation news, Boeing shocks industry watchers by announcing the development of a new 757-400 variant with a 5-meter* fuselage stretch. In addition to a type rating, a tailwheel endorsement will be required to pilot it.6. Tall landing gear so you don't have to MCAS the hell out of it when you put ridiculously oversized, displaced turbofanies 30-60 years down the road when the aeroplanie is grossly obsolete and should be no longer flying, let alone being produced.
* Approximately 7.5 Corgis.

Yes, I assumed the purpose of the tall gear was understood, but you are correct, that the greedy marketing people in management thought it was to make it look cool, like a jacked up Hummer.Expanded.6. Just like assuming that adding a relentless dive-by-wire kludge and not explaining it to piloties.
I would also echo your suggestions that Verbie and colleagues work with us on relaunches of the 727, 757 and 747.

It was, I only wanted to hammer Boeing exceutive's home the fact that, a couple generations from now, AI-Verbies will be patching this design up instead of making new ones.Yes, I assumed the purpose of the tall gear was understood...
