I, having perhaps more interest not_in computeries, but earth-destroying GMO nanoprobes [not_italics]we have our own issues with marketing and MBAs and regulatory groups.
[not_italics]We are all pretty much in the same boat (except for bicycle-adverse*, sterile-bubble aviation-industry advisors)

The tougher issue for me [warning, a modicum of heart-felt seriousness] is that in aerospace we really do need to push the envelope- even making cheap composite wings, hydraulic controls and mirrored compasses…and then are told that L-1011s, 757s, and 767s are obsolete, inefficient aeroplanies.

*As is repeated noted No_soy Carlos is also bicycle-adverse, but is slightly more supportive of flyboy and Dummy’s safety record, in spite of his enthusiastic effort to ban aviation, except for museums where static, anchored aeroplanies start their engines and run them up to full power.

I wonder if anyone has checked to see whether the doors are properly attached.

Indeed!

I know some are not fond of how drawn-out some of Mentour's videos are, but I have to say I'm impressed with the effort and research that go into them, and the production values have reached quite a high level.

The Boeing Leadership Center in St. Louis was originally developed by McDonnell, and became a merger prize when M-D and Boeing formed their unholy alliance in the late 90's.

The building at the top of the photo to the right was there before McDonnell bought the property. It is beautifully furnished inside and contains a large library.

The curved part of the main building in the center of the photo is the dining hall. The food there was as good as you would ever find in a Michelin starred restaurant. The chefs could cook to order virtually anything you wanted. The standing joke was that people who spent a week at the BLC came home five pounds heaver.

It has a fully equipped fitness center. The personal trainers there worked with you to help develop your own customized fitness plan.

There are a number of small theater-style lecture rooms. It had a fully equipped bar with pool tables and such. The bartenders had the job of monitoring your alcohol intake and had the authority to cut you off.

The BLC was the place where two decades ago Harry Stonecipher, then the Boeing CEO, cavorted with a female executive, an act that led to the Board of Bystanders dismissing him from his duties.

Now the place stands as a quaint artifact of the decadence and situational ethics with which McDonnell infected the larger Boeing company. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Hard to say who would want to buy it. It isn't really near anything, other than a muddy bend in the Missouri River. I suppose it could be developed into a golf resort. They would need to add a lot of parking - the reason the parking lot in the photo is so small is that it was only meant for the staff; guests arrived by coach.

Good riddance.

The Boeing Leadership was originally McDonnell's, and became a merger prize when M-D bought Boeing with Boeing's money in the late 90's and kept the Boeing name as a disguise .

In fairness, isn't that true of all of St Louis?

They do have this cool arch that according to at least one person, could be used as a runway if laid on its side.

Have you checked with the squid?

If you look at aerials, one of the buildings looks like an aeroplanie nose.

When you thought that the 737-MAX was the Frankenstein of the planes...

Here you have the new NASA / Boeing MD-C-152-737.

Meh.
:o :o :o

Most likely not Boeing's fault. This door is a super-duper-real plug-type that opens fully to the inside. Could have never opened like that in flight with the plane pressurized. Actually, the area of the gap is quite large, I doubt that the PACs would have been angle to hold the pressurization against that makeshift outflow valve. It may very well be the case that it became open during / after landing after the plane depressurized.

Is there a strap or something there between the door and the frame?

It is interesting / depressing (but kind of understandable) how anything that happens in a Boeing plane these days become newsworthy.

At the same time, it is not surprising since the media is so crazy to make aviation catastrophe news where there are none. Like:
A mother of two from Indiana , Stefanie Smith , 41, died suddenly after becoming ill during an American Airlines flight from the Dominican Republic to North Carolina (United States) . At her side was her boyfriend, who, according to a friend of the victim, witnessed how Smith's eyes rolled back and he began to convulse, a testimony that highlights the sudden and serious nature of his condition.

This incident occurred on the same day that another American Airlines flight , 94 bound for Spain from New York , had to be diverted to Boston due to a maintenance issue , although the two events appear to be unrelated.
Wait a second, don't jump to conclusions that quick.
A person having a seizure in a plane on a flight from South America may be totally related to a maintenance issue in another plane on another flight from Spain. Both happened in a plane. Both happened during flight. Both diverted. And it was the same airline. That's too many coincidence to be just random chance, you know!

Wrong!

Duct tape and baling wire!

Plus, for the doors/plugs, I’m thinking a good tie down ratchet strap or two are in order. Maybe a sheet of good 4 by 4 wire concrete reinforcement mesh?

I guess the screwdriver might be useful to un-jam the go-forward switch on a pilot seat.

And WTH?, you can’t fix ANYTHING without a good hammer.

Probing question: Did we and ITS mouth off too much about French Compisite and FBW Engineering? There is a god named Murphy who hears what we say, and then teaches lessons.
