…so I guess I’m stuck trying to be funny on obscure aviation fora.

Maybe we should have a "Flyoverian exceptionalism" thread...

That reminds me that I recently saw something for the "Argentinian exceptionalism" thread and I forgot what it was

I was strolling around the terminals while waiting to board my red eye flight from DEN earlier this week and was interested to see Southwest had placed inlet covers on their aircraft that were obviously laying over until the morning. Hadn't seen those in quite a while.

Methinks you missed the ironing: He’s gonna question obscure-deity-knows how many aspects of what you and your stupid colleagues do, Gabe’s buddies who design them, regulators, rescue-boat requirements and etc…but we shalt not_question “the science”.

It’s still fun to watch him face-plant.

Luftie vs. BBie, round 985853

Postby Not_Karl » Tue Dec 16, 2025 11:58 am

CREDENTIALS are thrown at the table. A small batch of corn is popped, just in case.
https://forums.jetphotos.com/forum/gene ... lier-today

FWIW, in Not_Karlie's opinion Luftie's credentials are much more important for aeroplanie safety than BBie's.

CREDENTIALS
Crap, I thought we had fixed the issue with red bars and now we have Star discrepancies

I went and did “thumbs up” on several LHB posts… I’ll have to check others in coming days.

Of course, neither one of those buttheads has the credentials to know that the An-22, very strictly speaking, was neither Ukrainian, nor Russian. Production aircraft were built in Tashkent, which makes it an Uzbek aircraft. O. K. Antonov himself (whom I had the great honor of very briefly meeting all the way back in 1984) was ethnically Russian whose bureau ended up in Kiev in 1952 (as Lufty correctly pointed out) because that's where there was available space.

It worked, now he can brag about having 4 stars.
We should do the same for BB, just to upset Luftie.

Is ATL trying to tell Bobbie that credentials aren’t everything?

Something that I have noticed in many more "seasoned" pilots is that they start to lose the distinction between taking their job seriously and taking themselves seriously. It seems Bobby has fallen into that trap. Then again, it might have happened long before he was truly "seasoned."

Many years ago, Bobby, as a FORUM newbie, took a cheap shot at VNav. I joined in, commenting that Nav was a good dude, and to the best of my knowledge well-credentialed.

A few days later I get a PM entitled “3WE the peace maker”. VNav basically said that he tired of the old know-it-alls, and proceeded to tell me how his Airline was now taking the 3rd biggest spot at Flyover after the TWA/AA/9-11 demise.

Then we have the whole PSI thing where, yeah I have to laugh at my major lack of credentials but a shred of common sense.

Gabriel, hopefully you don’t go giving stars to Bobby. There’s a poetic justice to him not_having them.

Ok, but somebody deserves them less than BB. That's the "poetic in_justice" part I suppose.

Analysis of stars…

Postby 3WE » Wed Dec 17, 2025 1:51 pm

I am refraining from disclosing that a couple of us have had a major impact on those ratings. And yes, Schmoey’s broad expertise has gotten him “likes” from time to time.

You gotta admit that It SOUNDS good to trash mean lawyers who speak against those wearing masks for God, Country and Uncle Albert.

Where did the like button go, by the way? I tried to give a like to Evan but I couldn't find it.
Last time I did something like that it was in the bars era.

There's no like/thanks button anymore but a "reaction" button instead (the smiley face with a "+" below signatures). When pressed it shows a fine selection of most excellent and appropriate reactions, such as thumbs up, thumbs down, the kissing and "in love" emojis Threewee uses on every post by Berntie, the sick emoji Not_Karlie uses on every post by Threewee and, most important of all, coffee.

It is fortunate that since The Big Update reactions are now anonymous, unlike previously...

…The Big Update…
A software update, not_unlike what has been done to ELCAS and MCAS.

It also appears the 787 needs a VRCS and HIPSASS updates.

Footnote: I knew it was Gabriel giving Evanie his occasional “likes” and “reactions”.

I dislike the suggestion that I use emojis that lack masculine toxicity , but concede that ride bikes after school is not_an option.

Yeah, I saw that. But what's the algorithm as it pretrains to stars? A thumb up is +1, kiss is +2, in love is +3, let's have sex is +10 and coffee is +200?

I would like to know what's the effect of giving someone some emoji or another. Not I would never give any emojis to anybody...
It is fortunate that since The Big Update reactions are now anonymous, unlike previously...
I also saw that. I always checked that just to see who was pathetic enough to like their own comments ad give emojis to themselves.
