The photo does lack the 1/3 - 2/3 composition I like, no pretty lighting, nor a human interest aspect as I was taught in my news photography class, but as we've seen, that knowledge and artistic aspects mean little compared to sharpening without over sharpening, and rejection of anything lacking some correction while claiming that altered photos are the tops of being unethical...

The entertainment value may be weak, but I am easily entertained (as evidence by my participation here and there).

And there is that shred of real relevance- when strange crashes occur and we are at a loss for any explanation- it could indeed be a meteor.

Why do you always insist in seeing the negative aspects of this sort of thing?

The Internet is a wonderful way for people to share all sorts of useful information, and deserves some appreciation. Thanks to a poster in that thread, the individual who posted the photos now knows that in those photos, the view of the aircraft is obstructed by a fence. In the pre-Internet days, how could he have known that?

I may know more about photography than the JP screeners, but alas, I have no credentials.
