Qatar 2022 (real) Football (real) Worldcup problems, the latest news...

Postby Not_Karl » Wed Nov 09, 2022 4:55 am

Argentinian delegation brings Brazilian produced, Uruguayan packaged yerba mate instead of Argentinian, causing controversy and interwebs drama. Apparently it's like high treason or something.
Meanwhile, Not_Karlie is outraged that space was occupied in an aeroplanie and fossil fuels burnt to fly that awful stuff. He does love dulce de batata and Palitos de la Selva (a strawberry and vanilla soft candy with extremely dubious animal "facts" on its envelope), on the other hand.

Are you talking about the real football you play the ball with the foot or the real football you play the ball with the hand?

Batata y Mar del Plata. My absolute favorite desert!
Lacking that, I had Membrillo and Swiss yesterday.

Palitos de la selva, paso. But I can accept an especial de jamón y queso en pan francés. Pan francés is something that the yanquis think they have here in the US.

Fixed. I'm talking of the World Cup that is actually a world event, as opposed to the baseball World Series.
I had Membrillo and Swiss yesterday.
I hope the holes didN't_align...
Pan francés is something that the yanquis think they have here in the US.
It would probably be called Freedom Bread if they had it.

Old news, but relevant for this thread: Shortage of World Cup stickers caused outcry and drama in Argentina. Scalpers sold them at ridiculous prices, counterfeit copies were sold as originals and people lost (relatively speaking) big amounts of money, sellers protested for lack of delivery, kids drew their own stickers for lack of the real ones, even the Government became involved because obviously we don't have any more pressing problems  . Not_Karlie doesn't want to live on this planet anymore.

Or cheap composite cracker box bread?

Yellow click-bait title. What panic?

Or cheap composite cracker box bread?
That would be the nickname for real, Toulouse-made pan francés.
Yellow click-bait title. What panic?
I'm sure whoever installed it was in panic of being sued.

-Our ex-president, commenting on UnAmerican Fake Football, called the Germans "a superior race".
-Alcohol availability keeps changing.
And I don't see a delete post button, here.
It was a beautiful illusion while it lasted...

-A small group or Argentinians sing a racist, transphobic/homophobic song against the French.
-For our labor minister, it is more important to win the worldcup than to combat inflation.

-The Selección Argentina loses its first match against the powerful and obvious favourite Saudi Arabia. I hope intense, public physical punishment and humiliation are on the way.
I blame America.

I thought, by the celebrations on the streets, that the worldcup had ended a week ago and we had won. I was surprised to learn that it continues. And appaled that we still have to endure the unbearable worldcup-themed ads.

(Maybe I should clarify that I do Not_like football, UnAmerican or otherwise)
