NTSB reports that the cause of a United Airlines' plane almost crashing into the ocean was the failure of the pilot(s) to prevent the aircraft from almost crashing into the ocean: https://www.cnn.com/travel/united-fligh ... index.html

Ugh.

I dunno…keep you hands on the power levers and the nose up in a measured FDnH manner.

Ugh.

I dunno…keep you hands on the power levers and the nose up in a measured FDnH manner.
Another case of the pilot flying not using the primary flight display to primarily fly the plane.

One would think that the existence of the ocean and the pilots knowingly flying over it would be considered at least contibuting factors :?: :?

Maybe with a little extra emphasis in the first few minutes after takeoff when flying in turbulence…

Then again, those whacky humans doing an extremely routine operation for the umpteenth time and momentary lapse of attention…

Neither was the PM using CRM to monitor the PFD, AI, ALT, VSI and GlutealAAccelerometer and help the PF FDGDA...especially during the DP...WTPhugoid?.
