What’s that thing I obsess over…something that’s supposed to be carefully measured?

Of course, the 172M does not_have underslung engine(s),

Put tail wheels on ALL aeroplanies.
Or, better still, replace ALL runway-strikeable panels with a treadmill.

Underslung engines? Have you watched the video (engine noise vs bang noise)? Have you seen the picture (position of the control surfaces)?

Underslung engines?
I don’t want to over think this. I ASS-ume there may be a little more pitch-up tendency on an underslung airliner when you power up (and make no mistake there is pitch up on a 172M and 172P).

Nevertheless, I expect that you and I would keep the pitch (and tail) halfway OK, even though WE know nothing of turning final with a handful of power levers and 300,000 lb in tow.

Ok…I get your point.

I repeat that I don’t want to over think this- Wherever the hell the engines are slung, looking at an attitude indicator (including the skyo-terra horizono vs de noseo) and making appropriate, measured pitch inputs are key.

But yeah, I retract my attempt to cut the stupid, cowboy-monkey, procedure-dismissing pilot a tiny shred of slack.
