Did he just say that it is ok to bank more in the base-to-final turn with no power?

Re: Target G levels for max glide.

They suggest that the pilot target an attitude where the wing chord was level, I was taught to go for best glide speed and trim. Curse you aeroengineer, I kind of ALREADY KNOW WE were taught to target best glide and trim…that wasn’t my question. I struck me as extremely interesting that a nose-leve...

Re: Boeing 747: It just keeps going and going...

Be careful with these tight turns. You will bank 32.7 degrees and pull up 1.24 Gs increasing the stall speed in 1.12% causing the plane to stall and fall from the sky with the consequent crash burn did diededness.

Re: Target G levels for max glide.

Evan is achieving new heights of airmanship with babbles about target G levels…(What?) But I stumbled on a random YouTube discussing engine failures in singles and workload. They suggest that the pilot target an attitude where the wing chord was level, and suggested that was less work. They then de...

Have you ever considered AD.info merch as a source of funding? I suggest t-shirts with "PULL UP" written on the front and "RELENTLESSLY" on the back.
I suggest one saying "RETARD, RETARD"

Re: Pull up and stall.

AoA kids, it's all about AoA . In rather unrelated news, the typist of the book I'm reading on AF447 is of the opinion that AoA indicators would not have prevented the accident. His reasoning basically seems to be that there were so many other indicators of a stall that were ignored due to sensory ...

As a wise man once said...
People making portrait videos should be banned from www.internet.com. People making portrait videos with a tiny landscape video in the middle should be banned from the Earth.

Re: Pull up and stall.

Amazing that the pilot was able to maintain lateral control throughout the stall. Surely he had the strength of mind to keep himself from instinctively making aileron inputs.

Re: Interesting

I could also be Evan and suggest that they are not lined up, on glideslopes (and on speed) for the stabilized approach gate thing of grand procedural operation.
A stabilized straight-in 3-degree approach can be problematic when the flight path intersects the topology of a celestial body.

Re: Ground worker sucked by engine. Envoy E175 at Montgomery, Alabama

Terrible comment: I sometimes see clues that some rampies don’t care about procedures…hell, they sure drop a lot of bags off carts… not a life or death thing, but conversely a fairly high priority. I suspect much of this derives from management speaking with a forked tongue: safety is the top prior...

Re: Suck, bang, blow.......

Bump: Unfortunately the movie is now private, but an E-170 sucks a safety cone out of the rampies hand. The cone did died, and the engine probably got rebuilt.
The rampie was as close to did diededness as it gets. And his underware was a total loss.

Forever Incredible. Very appropriate. The title of this thread is also very appropriate. Most, if not all, of us, will be retired before the 747 is.

Re: Electric crackerboxes are coming!

It's a hybrid so most likely you have the turboprop minus the prop plus a generator plus an electric motor, rather than a cargo pod full of batteries.
