I don't think she'd going to run. I think she's milking it. She is raking in the dough with books, TV shows, etc.

Re: Longest Flight

That's pretty cool.

Joe Sutter, the designer of the 747, never liked the MD. He said it had to do with the re-design of the plane, with little changes done to the wing. I'll have to find the exact quote.

But: Congrats, Charles. Glad you are having fun.

Re: US army murder footage released

I've seen other video of Apache attacks and these guys are way up there. I don't know the distances, but in one instance they zoomed out to regular (or what seemed like regular) view and they must have been a couple miles away.

Despite the popular image of legend, there is no evidence that Vikings wore horned helmets.

American Eagle

Ice build-up behind the boot. ATR redesigned the boot after recommendations from NTSB and NASA(?). AE moved their ATR fleet to warmer climates after the incident.

747 - Joe Sutter

An amazing story about the creation of the 747. Written so that it is enjoyable to read and gives you enough information to get a sense of how a idea becomes reality.

Re: Dubai World defaulting - impact on Emirates etc.?

They ordered a truck-load, put them on the JFK-DBX route and promptly moved them because load factors were garbage (now served by a 777). They have one going to YYZ-DBX if I'm not mistaken. Emirates have a frim order for 58 at a unit cost of ~ US $317.2 - 337.5 million. with 5 already delivered. A n...

Rubbish!

In talking with an Air Canada AME, I asked the question about the Embraer's that they bought. He noted they were crap. He also noted that in the late 80's when they received their Airbus aircraft the thought process was much the same, only to be proven wrong 20 years later. Do you think Embraer can ...

Chris, I liked your Mazda. It has lots of kick in its step.

I've also been in decent American muscle, and it had its own draw to it. (Monte Carlo, Camaro and Mustang)
