Is there a significant move towards direct routings taking place in 2020/2021?

I’ve noticed that the morning FedEx seems to fly North all the way from Memphis on a “base leg”, then turn final and land.

No Boosh arrival, Rush Limbaugh VOR, Southern IL, ‘formal downwind’.

I see three possibilities:

1. It’s 5:00 AM, so direct routings have minimal traffic issues.

2. ITS company has worked a special deal with ATC.

3. Direct routings are becoming much more common.

4. Plane is actually supposed to go to LAX but Fedex is trying to improve efficiency at delivering packages to the wrong address.

An update- I stumbled on tomorrow’s flight on FlightAware…the routing looked “more normal”…the practice of “skipping waypoints” is nothing new, and maybe at 5:00 AM, you can skip lots of them…
