11/7/2009, A great day.

Aviators sit in the shade of their weatherbeaten, fabric-covered biplanes, exchange hangar talk and tell stories of their barnstorming days before they take to the air again and fly toward the setting sun ....

However, the Spirit of Flyover airport is having its periodic airshow.

No visual contact at 3BS's house :( but lots of loud jet aeroplanies to be heard in the distance.

And, a sonic boom!

Of course, I'm sure it's cowboy improvisation and whatever service branch did it is on my no-fly list.

Finally, a cool off to seasonal temperatures, doing yard work, and...

The CAP flies over to scout and destroy German submarines and revolutionary-minded squid on Flyover’s rivers.

Unfortunately, perhaps this is old guys reliving other people’s glory in war birds that should have been parked in 1950 (see footnote)? For the moment, my slight disdain is suspended.

Nice weather.

Much gardening (including the application of protective chemistry).

The old guys from Broken Heart airport out putting around in their Stearmans (airoplanies that are WAAAAAY too old, un-automated and lacking in redundancy (except for large numbers of cyliders)), including cowboy idiocy formation flight.

I didn't see them as much as hear them...a few brief glimpses over the tops of the trees a couple of miles away. And a few, rather high, Southwest 737s inbound and outbound to/from Flyover International.

We have nice weather here too... finally!

The lack of aeroplanies periodically flying over the house is stunning though:

If I'd taken that same screenshot at the same time a year ago, there would probably be about 50 jets in it.

Paraphrased, no aeroplanies flying over ericiee's house.
Interesting...Indeed there's a lot fewer airliners but I'm near a lot of flight paths to flyover, so when they do go by (a few an hour), I see them.

Then there's the final to the Spirit of Bizjet...it is maybe 70% of normal.

Broken heart seems fully active with little aeroplanies...I have not looked to see what av-gas costs these days.

Talking out my rear*, it's almost as gen aviation may be "increased" (or should I say "decreased less") as it compensates for airlinerie issues.

*Yes, I'm always talking out my rear, the Pope is Catholic and bears poop in the woods.

Beautiful fall day. 3BS cuts down a tree and misses valuable fencing an other trees and power lines.

He also sees this slightly unique contrail: https://www.airdisaster.info/viewtopic. ... 883#p75883

Fallingtreephotos submission from 3BS’ neighbor (with 3BS pontificating on lumberjack procedures even though he is an ass-hat, outsider parlour talker). Note the resemblance to Brianie.

Also pictured in this photo is the South downwind for Flyover International Airport. However, no Aeroplanies as TWA AND Coronavirus has greatly reduced traffic.

Wow, ya don't want that one falling in the wrong direction!

This is what we had for weather on Saturday:

...followed by an inch of rain on Sunday, by Monday AM it was all gone. We're supposed to have temps close to 70 at the end of the week.

You’ll never know the thrill of a handful of chainsaw, making the skillful notch to guide thousands of pounds and 70 feet of tree to the perfect landing where immense PSI are used to stop.

I LIVED IT!!!!!

By the way, there is usually no opportunity to go around and try again and you also need to exercise caution cutting into a headwind.

Hey that's not fair... I own a chainsaw!

It's just a little battery-powered one but it does surprisingly well considering it's wussy appearance. It gets mostly used for branches but I've used it on trees up to about half the size of the one in your photo.

I physically resemble Brianie.

However, I do not_share his extreme disdain for carry on retrieval nor his views on photo cropping, nor do I inform air crews of PPL and Red Cross first aid training.

Hope this helps.

45 LOGICAL FARENHEIT degrees,occasional drizzle, IMC-ish...

Cutting wood in the yard (related to earlier tree-felling post) and 3 F-somethingorothers fly by going into Spirit of Flyover for gas. (Not_in formation, but individual approaches.)

Sweet! We get business jets flying over the house at low altitudes all the time on approach to BED but the Boings and Airbii tend to be higher as they're going to BOS which is farther away.

We've had humid & 90+ degrees here since Sunday (95 yesterday), but the high tomorrow is forecast to be around 70... much better!

Less haze, but warm and humid. Spraying pesticides in the garden...

AND

The Goodyear Blimp flies over (Two days in a row of awesomeness.)

It seemed roughly on the approach course for Spirit of Flyover.

Sorry, too slow with the phone to grab a Blimphoto.

Opening day for US-style cricket. I will be present.

For now, cloudy, cool and breezy and looks like the local KC-135 folks are shooting some approaches or landings at Flyover.
