Curious. Very little information. Probably have to wait for the final report.

One of the favorite youtubes of the house (Blancolirio) has a video on this accident. Apparently the plane was taking off with the brakes on on a runway that was barely long enough to take off with the brakes off.

I read the discussion on Katherine’s report- sounds like there’s a strange quirk on the parking brake in that type that Swiss cheesed a few times in the past.

Conversely, the normal speculation of ABORT!, NO DON’T!…

Blancolirio has an interesting approach. Very American, very "branded". Lives in the middle of nowhere (which I respect) and has a quite explict set of opinions despite apparently being employed by a major US airline as a day job.

Yeah, I noticed that, was going to post about it but didn't get around to logging in. Doesn't seem to be a lot of real info available yet.

A news headline stated that the parking brake was in the "on" position.

I will go re-read the Kathryn report parlour talk- I do not_remember the details, but there was some quirk where something is set to "on", but the brake is not_"truly" on in a noticeable fashion...whatever the heck that means.

Update: Earlier ass-hat, parlour talk comments have apparently been deleted regarding the brake quirk. :?
