Narrative:

A United Nations plane crashed while attempting to land at the airport serving Congo's capital Kinshasa on Monday, killing 16 people, a UN source told.
"The plane landed heavily, broke into two and caught fire," the source said, asking not to be named.

I hate reading about UN aircraft in trouble, an old colleague of mine flies for them (or at least used to) along with his wife, they've been close to some quite hairy situations.

This can't be good. Has anyone heard from flyboy? I hope his dentist kept good records.

Trust me, Verbal, there is no way I would ever consider doing anything anywhere near Congo. Or Africa in general.

For Ohioans, driving to Ontario means driving through Detroit. It's a little scary, but nothing more than a nuisance. I can only imagine what Canadians traveling in the opposite direction must think when it is their first impression of the United States.

You may have a point, but I gotta tell you, if your first impression of Canada were to be based on, say, Toronto, that wouldn't be all that terribly impressive either. Looks (and certainly smells) like Madras.

I've only been to Vancouver and southern Ontario (not as far as Toronto).
