I guess we'll be finding out how good computers are at manufacturing emergencies out of situations any human could resolve...
(Not much information in the article. I wouldn' t be surprised if operations are restricted to hard VMC, and in California you can mostly afford to do that...)

I think the question is whether they will be better or worse at manufacturing emergencies than humans? AF011 and AF447 come to mind...

Sarcasm aside... I assume this thing cannot communicate with ATC? That seems like a huge limitation.
