Well call me crazy but I prefer a world where there's less lawbreaking, not more.

Which oddly is something conservatives say most of the time too. Most of the time.

Edited to add: by the way, where I live, there is a severe shortage of people willing to clean toilets for a living. If you personally know of anyone who is unemployed and willing to do that for a living, send them this way.

Just as an example of the above, our local U-Haul place is actually offering paid interviews, they're having such a hard time finding workers. And IMO that work is at least one step up from cleaning toilets.
There is no shortage of workers, there is a shortage of people willing to work for what employers in question are willing to pay. Not quite the same thing. Pay more, you'll get applicants, it's not complicated.

As much as I hate Trump, in my opinion he was intentionally and maliciously taken out of context here.

It was in the middle of a discussion and it is clear to me that what he meant is that he doesn't know not if he has uphold the constitution or not, but whether the actions that he wants to take (deport millions without trial or any sound due process) would be a violation of the constitution, he followed the "I don't know" with something along the lines of "I have dozens upon dozens of the most beautiful lawyers, you should see them, you would not believe how smart they are, they are the best lawyers that there have ever been, and they are going to tell me what I can do and what I can't do".

Now, if he actually responded to whether he, as president, has to uphold the constitution, the answer that he would think but may or may not say is "I don't care".

Comparing enrollment at West Point to people "joining the military" in general is a little like comparing Ferrari sales volumes to those of Italian car industry in general. You know this, of course, but Big Orange Man Bad, so why not post something stupid in hopes that someone else might also be led to think that Big Orange Man Bad, right?

The phrase "no one" means zero people. Yet there were more than zero people at that graduation. So correct me if I'm wrong but I only see two possibilities: either the folks graduating West Point were not joining (or had not joined) the military, or Trump lied.

There is one more possibility: you took his words out of context and are presently trying to play stupid. Nobody is buying it, so give it a rest. I'm sorry she lost, really, I am. Next time run someone who does NOT make an actual wet sponge sound sharp, you might stand a chance. By "you" I mean the party towards which you (personally) seem to be leaning.

Thank you for playing, though, always entertaining.

No, thank you for playing!

Here are Trump's exact words, in context:
They’ll be based on merit. We won that case in the Supreme Court of the United States. We’re allowed to go back to a system of merit. We’re a merit-based country again. Today, morale in the armed forces is soaring to the highest levels in many decades after years of recruiting shortfalls. And we had years and years of recruiting shortfalls, and just last year was the worst of all, the last year of the Biden administration.

We couldn’t get anybody to join our military. We couldn’t get anybody to join our police or firefighters. We couldn’t get anybody to join anything. And right now, just less than a year later, we just set a brand new peacetime recruiting record. The most, most people joined. And we are brimming — In fact, be careful.
So you're right... in context, it's clear he lied even more. Not only did he claim that nobody joined the military in Biden's last year, he also claimed that nobody joined the police or firefighters. All demonstrably false.

So he lied, pure and simple, multiple times. And if you think I'm making this up, there's a transcript of the speech here: https://rollcall.com/factbase/trump/tra ... y-24-2025/ and video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fohfLLopY1s&t=1884s

If you still think I'm missing context, please tell me what the context is.

It is worse than that. I wish we could say that everyone agrees that Trump is a despicable specimen of homo sapiens but over 50% considered that was was still a less-bad choice than Kamala.

But the fact is that while some that voted for Trump think that way, a significant fraction of that 50%+ LOVES Trump.
And that is something the defeats explanation.
