Not really. The Dems are willing to approve the budget IF the Reps are willing to cancel a law that will triple the cost of health insurance for poor people, after they already cancelled Medicaid for millions, while lowering taxes for the rich, which is my opinion is reprehensible, but has nothing to do with the budget, but the Dems think that the budget is the only lever they have available and they "kidnap" the government to ask for the cancellation of this law as ransom, which is also reprehensible.In other news, we* are debating budgets.
By the way , both complain of the attitude of the other, but this kind of things each of them complain about is just what they did in the past when the situation was reversed and the Dems had the congress and the Reps used budget blocking as a weapon (during the Obama adm).
Hypocrisy is such a central part of politics...

I don't know. It was easier when we had to choose between the bad and the worst, or even between the worst and the worse... But now, with the options being worse or worser, worstest or worstestest, etc. I'm Not_sure anymore.Granted. Maybe the question is, was this the least-bad lose?
We used to elect the less smelly between turds, but nowadays they are all just as smelly, the only difference is the bouquet.
