Another Crazy Video
The RANS-9 like all RANS products is of dubious quality being a small step above a hombuilt ultralight. So what do people do? Push them to the max....

That inverted pull up (or pushover) was a bad idea. What's the negative g-limit for an aircraft like that, about -1.5?

Aerobatic category: +6/-3 Gs (under FAR 23)That inverted pull up (or pushover) was a bad idea. What's the negative g-limit for an aircraft like that, about -1.5?
I don't know if this airplane is FAR 23 or homebuild/experimental. Anyway, airplanes intended for aerobatics ususally meet the +6/-3 Gs criteria even if not FAR 23.

That would be very close to the G-level he was pulling when the wing broke....What's the negative g-limit for an aircraft like that...

That video nicely sums up the entirety of the Argentinian Air Force's attempt to take over the Malvinas.

Re: Another Crazy Video
In Argentina Islas Malvinas is the only official name. You cannot even legally bring maps from abroad that say "Falklands".
Most Latin-American countries, have officially recognized the sovereignty of Argentina over the Southern Atlantic islands, and hence officially call them Malvinas. Colloquially they are known as Malvinas.
Of course, in the United Kingdom they are officially called Falklands and colloquially called such too.
I guess there are another few countries who recognize the sovereignty of the United Kingdom over the islands.
In most of the rest of the World, they are officially called the Falklands Islands / Islas Malvinas, territory under dispute, but colloquially called Falklands.
But regardless of how they are called at each place, the reality is that the Falkland/Malvinas Islands are rightfully Argentinian, legally a territory under dispute (UN), and factually English. And it looks it will stay like that for the foreseeable future.
Now what all this has to do with the video is beyond my understanding.

Re: Another Crazy Video
That would be the Argentinian version of reality of course. The one that ignores the fact that Argentina, since its establishment, has never ruled the Falklands or its people expect by miltary invasion in the 80's.the reality is that the Falkland/Malvinas Islands are rightfully Argentinian

Re: Another Crazy Video
In the USA we say, posseion is 9/10ths of the law, so it is the Falkland Islands. Get over it people, so we don't have another General Belgrano incident.

Re: Another Crazy Video
Oh, I got over it already. That's why I've said "the reality is that the Falkland/Malvinas Islands are [...] factually English. And it looks it will stay like that for the foreseeable future.Get over it people, so we don't have another General Belgrano incident.
By the way, I think that the war was a far too big mistake. There was absolutely no chance of winning (and there will never be in the forseeable future, so I hope we never try that stupidity). And I'm happy that most of the bombs launched by our Air Force that actualy hit British ships didn't explode (because they were launched too close and the time lock designed to protect the plane from the blast of its own bomb didn't had time to arm). Otherwise the war would just been longer, with more casualties on both sides, and with the same final result.
That's not the case. The history, however, is very intrincated, with people from around the world claimimng soverignity several times. Some times even that happened while the islands were under the soverignity of someone else, with that fact being unknown by the new claimer.Argentina, since its establishment, has never ruled the Falklands

And yes, that "Malvinas Islands are rightfully Argentinian" is the Argentininan version, of course. As much as that the British version is they are British (with the slight difference that this verison matches the factual reality)

Re: Another Crazy Video
if Argentina really wants to rule the Falklands then here's an idea: try to aviod having your country ruled by drunken facist generals with a perpensity to throw those they disagree with out of helicoptors or use torture, rape and murder as a method of political control. Once you have established a stable, resonably open democratic tradition in your country with a decent track record, say a hundred years or so, then I suspect you would have the Bennies on the Falklands making a path to your door demanding to be let in.
Simples.
Simples.

Re: Another Crazy Video
Imagine, for an instant, that Argentina had the power (luckily it doesn't) to invade London, kick the Londoners out, put an Argentinian population there, and keep it despite the British claiming over and over its sovereignty over London, and then the Brits decide to "reconquer" London and are rejected by the Argies, and when the Brits claim the Argies would reply "Ask the current Londoners".You forgot the slight difference that the British version is the same as that of the Falklanders, Gabriel!
That's the Argentinian version: The people of the islands has no right to self-determination because they are an "imposed" people, not originals from the islands (this matches international law). In my hart I agree with this, but I would not aim a gun against a Brit to defend it (in fact, I doubt I would aim a gun against anybody except maybe, if I had one, as self defense in an imminent life-threatening situation). As I've said, I got over it. I would really like that the Falklands were ruled by Argentina, but they are not and the United Kingdom are decided to keep ruling them, and there's nothing we can do about that, and I can live with that with no hearted to the British people or the Kelpers (they are simply defending their interests, and doing it well, rightfully or not, and I'd be probably doing the same in their place).
Re: Another Crazy Video
Indeed and concur 200%, with just a minor comment.if Argentina really wants to rule the Falklands then here's an idea: try to aviod having your country ruled by drunken facist generals with a perpensity to throw those they disagree with out of helicoptors or use torture, rape and murder as a method of political control. It's now 27 years in a row (an absolute all times record by far) that we are not ruled by drunken facist generals but by a democratic government ruled by inept and corrupt politicians. Such an imorovenet, hu? (well, it is a major improvement indeed, just not good enough)

I don't know. But they appear to be broken in a lot of small pieces (about 776 small islands, according to Wikipedia), so it's a possibility. Are they made from cheap composites?

Re: Another Crazy Video
This analogy works if you think that prior to 1833 the Falklands were a long-established Argentinian settlement of 'originals from the islands' in the same way that London is a long-established British settlement. Seems to me that it's a bit less straightforward.Imagine, for an instant, that Argentina had the power (luckily it doesn't) to invade London, kick the Londoners out, put an Argentinian population there, and keep it despite the British claiming over and over its sovereignty over London, and then the Brits decide to "reconquer" London and are rejected by the Argies, and when the Brits claim the Argies would reply "Ask the current Londoners".
