Unfortunately, Dan Juan is my source here, but it struck me as a bit remarkable: Hints that a STRONG wind shear downed a King Air.
They departed 180 into ~200 at 20 kts, and the next report was 320 at 20 to 40 kts. I remember weather guys being very impressed with a low level jet that and shear that day with convection mucking it up.
I would fantasize that a King Air and some altitude could pull through something like that…conversely a little inattention and you might botch things/lose control.
