Fly away, change frequency, climb, don’t relay any information, caution wake turbulence…

I’m sure the flight crew wasn’t forced to do anything, but damn, the controllers just don’t seem properly helpful.

“We’re staying with you” “Eff no you’re not”

“Information Uniform is current”. How about you just give a GD wind check and altimeter?

“Vehicle on runway”. WRONG! “Cleared to land, we are checking the runway for you, the vehicle will clear the runway prior to your arrival.”

“FedEx 123, yes, clearer to stop however you see fit.”

Positives:

Didn’t ask for fuel and souls (although that’s THEORETICALLY intended to help the rescue of the pilots, AND maybe it was omitted.

Made a second transmission: Maintain 2000 IF YOU CAN. Speed is your discretion.

I miss Vector.

ATC needs to stop clearing airplanes to land or take off so close ahead of an emergency inbound for landing. If there is any problem and the other plane needs to stop on the runway, the AA might have to make a low-level single-engine go-around close to MTOW and in landing configuration. Not nice.
