Brazilia icing problem

Postby Putt4Par » Thu Mar 18, 2010 2:43 am

Back in the mid to late 90's (if I remember correctly) there was an incident where a Brazilia airplane did a full roll in midflight over Florida due to icing. It landed
safely. Anybody remember that? Any info on the case # with the FAA?

It was 2001, but otherwise you remember correctly: http://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/GenPDF.asp?id= ... 031&rpt=fi

Incidentally, you can query the NTSB database at http://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/query.asp. It's pretty decent, with text search of the narrative available if required.

There was, however, also a fatal Brasilia crash blamed on icing. Same airline.
