Schmus, you know this forum requires photographic proof of such non-empirical statements as above, and not just reference to some avatar photo of a Danish she-male hooker chatting up a cruising Blueback.

Boeing decommissions first 787
Boeing's first 787 Dreamliner, ZA001, flew from Seattle's Boeing field to Palmdale, Calif., for decommissioning Thursday, nearly two years after its much-delayed maiden flight.
* * *
During testing, ZA001 completed 518 flights, totaling 1,326 hours and 50 minutes, according to Boeing's 787 flight-test website.
Boeing reclassified the first three 787s to a research and development expense in August 2009, taking a charge of $2.5 billion, because the reworking destroyed the airplanes' commercial value. The first 787 ended up costing Boeing more than $4 billion, company sources told Flightblogger.
As for the aircraft's ultimate destination, it's worth noting that Seattle's Museum of Flight is home to the first 747, 727 and production 737. Here's hoping they get a new friend soon.

ANA: Few Glitches in First 787 Flights
EXCERPT:
* * *
Japan's All Nippon Airways Co. has been flying the Dreamliner for more than six weeks and has had "a very smooth entry into service," said Chief Executive Shinichiro Ito, in an interview. ANA currently has two Dreamliners flying six daily domestic flights of up to 90 minutes each.
The airline plans to launch its first international 787 service, from Tokyo to Frankfurt, on January 21. It expects to have 11 Dreamliners by March and a total of 20 by March 2013, although Boeing has not yet set the exact delivery schedule for next year, Mr. Ito said.
* * *
Indications on fuel efficiency are also positive, Mr. Ito said, although short flights do not demonstrate the plane's reduced consumption. Boeing touts the Dreamliner as being at least 20% more fuel efficient than similar-sized models, such as the Boeing 767. "I think we will achieve that performance," Mr. Ito said.
In almost 200 flight legs so far, the Dreamliner has had almost no technical problems that delayed or canceled flights, Mr. Ito said. Newly designed airplanes have long been plagued by glitches and logistical snags that disrupt flights. A plane's ability to depart trouble-free, known as dispatch reliability, is a barometer of the design's maturity and a key measure that customers analyze when considering which models to buy.
About a week after ANA began regular service with the Dreamliner, the landing gear on one of the jets experienced a technical glitch during flight that the airline later described as a minor malfunction. The glitch—involving the deployment of the landing gear—delayed the plane's arrival by 30 minutes.
ANA's small sample size of barely 200 short flights on only two airplanes is probably too small to be statistically significant. But Mr. Ito said that after delays of more than three years getting the Dreamliners due to production problems, the smooth introduction is welcome.
"Dispatch reliability is close to 100%," he said. "For a brand new aircraft, we think this is very good."
A Boeing spokesman said the figure is "above 95%" and "the airplanes are performing as expected."
The performance is superior to early days of Boeing's last all-new jetliner, the 777, which entered service with United Airlines in 1995. The Dreamliner is "performing better than when the 777 went into service," Pat Shanahan, vice president for airplane programs at Boeing, said in a recent interview.

"Most of the annoying glitches have been traced to wing box issues, together with young college interns randomly flipping switches and turning knobs in the test frames", said Boeing spokesperson Henawder Titzoff.
BTW, when is the 797 finally going to roll out?

You did not get a Preview of United Airline's 787-Dreamliner Livery Yesterday
Yesterday President Obama made a visit to the Boeing Factory at Paine Fieldand he was able to make a speech in front of United’s first 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft looked to be in standard United livery, making it seem that they might not be planning a special livery, but look a bit closer. You can see the joints of the plane, meaning it is not painted.
The opportunity to have Obama stand in front of a 787 is something you do not want to pass up. Problem was that no 787 has been painted in an airline’s livery based in the US. No problem; you can slap some decals on the plane and make it look (on the most part) ready for service – and that is just what Boeing did.

One Dreamliner of a car

Seattle's the place to see the latest Boeing models in the sky — and on the street. In recognition of its partnership with Boeing on advanced materials such as the carbon fiber used in the 787 Dreamliner, Lamborghini is unveiling a one-of-a-kind Aventador LP 700-4 with a swoopy, blue and white Dreamliner-esque color scheme. Lamborghini is showing the "Boeing edition" Aventador on Tuesday at the Aerospace & Defense Supplier Summit in Seattle. Carbon-fiber components of the $370,000, V-12 Aventador were developed at the University of Washington's advanced composite structures laboratory, which the two companies sponsor. The car may be used for 787 delivery events, said Paolo Feraboli, lab director and UW assistant professor.

Boeing to roll out first S. Carolina 787 this month
The first Dreamliner put together outside Everett will debut at an April 27 ceremony attended by South Carolina officials and Boeing executives
(Excerpt)
The airplane is destined for delivery to Air India in the summer. Before then, the airplane will undergo extensive testing, both on the ground and in the air. It will also fly to Amarillo, Texas, where it will be painted by an outside contractor.
Assembly of the jet began last July. Production at the South Carolina final assembly facility will likely remain slow for some time. In the meantime, Boeing is building a temporary second assembly line in Everett, expected to open this summer, aiming to ensure it can ramp up total 787 production as fast as promised.
The current plan is for the Charleston site to assemble three Dreamliners per month and the Everett plant to assemble seven per month. Boeing aims to reach a rate of 10 per month by the end of next year.
