Partly right Giles.If the trajectory of the ball would hit the stumps, then its LBW. I am guessing, because I can not see the video, but if the ball hit the helmet then it was already higher than then stumps.Help a Yank time....
In this video the batsman is declared, I believe, bowled out when his helmet comes off and hits the stump. Wouldn't he be out LBW even if the helmet hadn't hit the stump? Or does a ball to the head not count as LBW?
El please correct clarify if I am wrong.
The Ball has to pitch in a particular area to be considered for LBW, depending upon how it's bowled ( the particular style of delivery ) to a great extent ( TOO complicated to go into here for me ).
Some deliveries by real masters ( Muraly, Shane Warne) may defeat even this law
