The US President

Postby Ancient Mariner » Tue Dec 08, 2009 6:10 pm

Please keep him in the USoA. His visit and the American megalomania is f***ing up our capital and draining our coffers. No peace prize is worth that. Please take him back and lock him up, now!

Indeed ,Norway has more important problems to cope with:
Bergen City's traditional "Gingerbread City", claimed to be the world's largest, was Saturday night completely destroyed by vandals. The city consisted of 1200-1300 "buildings", all smashed to pieces.

The city is an annual pre-Christmas project, with up to 10,000 people from the larger Bergen region participating. On Saturday, 2000 "builders" participated in setting up and decorating the more than 1000 buildings.

A few hours later the colourful display was nothing but sad ruins.

- For us this is completely unthinkable. Incomprehensible, says Gingerbread City Mayor Steinar Kristoffersen.

He is joined by Bergen Mayor Gunnar Bakke: - I am profoundly saddened and disappointed.

- Here many have worked hard to make this a positive happening for the children and the citizens of Bergen. I am shocked that it is possible to do something like this, Bakke said.

The police are investigating the vandalism, and have asked the public for information to help in the search for the vandals. A reward has been posted by a private businessman.

Bergen Mayor Bakke went on to suggest that it may still be possible to rebuild the city, and already Sunday morning NRK Radio could report that many had already started making new gingerbread houses for a new city. Professional bakers have also joined in

Maybe Obama can fly airforce one low over the tragic scene on his way out like Bush did at New orleans?

Lock him up for what, pray tell? For being Black?

Is there anything beside Akkevit that doesn't make you grouchy, Per?

Mmmmm, no.
Closing down our main airport, the only main road from the north to Oslo, Oslo city centre, forking out at least 80 million NOK to the police alone and yadda, yadda, yadda extra costs for next to nothing makes me crouchy, for which I humbly apologize. NOT!
I belivie we have more worthy causes on which to spend our money.

No need, unlike New Orleans the ginger bread city was rebuilt by volunteers in just a few days. I hear they are still struggling down south your way?

Chin up, Per, at least you are not getting him twice in less than three months as we do.
I don't mind that it is Obama coming, more the whole circus that is surrounding the POTUS.
Wonder if that is a swear word in certain languages?

It was discovered that gingerbread grows soggy in New Orleans weather. New building materials are being evaluated as we speak.

That is indeed why gingerbread houses are constructed in the Norwegian winter only, especially in a place like Bergen.

No, we don't want him here either. You can keep him. Or maybe he should move to Venezuela or China as he seems to sympathize with the way those governments run. And he can take Oprah with him too.

He didn't win because of my vote. He won in spite of my vote against him. But yes, this is a Democracy and I accept him as our president. That doesn't mean I like him or like what he is doing. Incidentally, is he now out of the country apologizing somewhere?

He should be in Denmark soon apologizing for the USoA's major contribution to global warming before he arrives here apologizing for losing USoA'a 4th and 5th war.

I'm fat, stupid and ugly. What's the government going to do about it?

You still beleive that global warming nonsense? I'm sure we can all agree that if GW were true, the best way to combat it would be to fly 140 jets to Denmark for a conference that will accomplish nothing, right?

He swapped the order, Oslo first, then Copenhagen on the 18th.
Maybe he will also join our Xmas party which is going to assume failure of COP15 and start preparing for COP16, which will see Denmark having a Caribbean climate, so menu and dress code has been altered accordingly.

@Sabre:
Maybe (and I think it is a weak maybe) GW is not actually happening, but the risk of doing nothing and then finding out for sure that GW is going on is just too great. Another plus of acting on GW is that we should see a general reduction of pollution, something especially larger cities would benefit from.

Don't forget the 1200 limos required to move those pompous asses around CPH. Oh, and 4 electric cars.

Damned, I was hoping that the famous Danish hospitality (Tuborg and Gammel Dansk) would keep him in Denmark to after the Yule tide.

They ain't my friends, I ride the wrong sort of motorbike. Or maybe they do.
Even if they would listen to me, I doubt they would be able to get anywhere close to Obama. Heck, they can't even shoot straight when they are targeting rivals without Secret Service protection.

So rather than find out if there is any merit to the issue, we should spend trillions of dollars and (insert your currency of choice here), thinking we can repair a supposed threat we can't prove is real or controllable. A pre-emptive strike, so to speak. Indeed, some GW measures may reduce pollution, but at far greater expense than simply attacking that problem head-on. It looks like the money behind these GW 'efforts', is simply shifted around in some sort of massive shell game, except that it's easier to track the shell, as it is the one that ends up in front of Owl Gore and Co.

The cockroach capital of the world? Not a chance. Houston will be here long after the rest of the world is incinerated.
