Just curious if you were flying during the past five days of horrible weather across the U.S. Any interesting stories to share?

Just to play devil's advocate, was there really "horrible weather across the us", or was it just a plain old winter storm with snow and gusty winds.

While Chicago was supposed to get hit pretty good, I didn't catch any "horror stories" on the news.

It did snow, so, I'm sure there were delays and cancellations, but maybe it wasn't too bad, or maybe it's just old news.

Maybe things were worse at DesMoines, International Airport?

Not a problem if you are on the ground, but somehow I think that if you were flying it could have been pretty bad. That is why I was asking. Winds of 40-60 mph, lots of snow in some areas, rain and thunder in other areas. Yes, it may have been a fairly normal weather system for winter but I am glad I was not flying. I looked at the PIREPs on Wednesday and the map showed reports of mod and severe turbulence all across the midwest and eastern seaboard.
